Schön's model of reflectionReflective thinking is important in anyone's life because you get to see past experiences, analyse them and see how it could have been tackled differently or whether you actually learned from any mistakes or success you achieved.
Before I did not know who Donald Schön was in the first place and I had no idea that I had been applying his principle in my life! When I was introduced to the Schön's model of reflective thinking, I thought at first it was going to be a complicated principle we had to follow for our dissertation but I never knew that I had already applied it into my life and still am when it comes to family, friends, relationship, health and school. What I understood from the Schön's model of reflection is that if I experienced something for example; producing an oil painting two days before a deadline I learnt that it obviously needed more time to dry therefore after reflecting on my experience, that of presenting my painting wet, I had to manage and plan my time before handing in the painting. The solution was that about a week before, my work had to be finished. If I don't do that, then I would not be applying the Schön's model of reflection correctly because I would have not reflected well enough to understand what I did wrong and how I could arrange it. I already wrote two blogs regarding how I applied Schön's method in my life and I honestly do that every day and will keep on doing it for the rest of my life if I want to seek success.
